Águia Moura em Vinhas Velhas Reserva - Robert Parker rating 88
A Proprietary Blend Dry Red Table wine
from Douro, Portugal

The 2012 Reserva em Vinhas Velhas red is
an old vines field blend aged for
12 months in new French oak. Showing just
enough depth, this tightens with
air and finishes with some complexity of
flavor, including oaky nuances at the
moment. The fruit rises above the oak and
it should continue to do so. It certainly kept improving in that regard as I
aired it out. Overall, it has an elegant, easy feel while managing to avoid
becoming overly simple. Give this a little time to settle down and it should be
a nice bargain with some structure, modest intensity and finesse.
It should make a nice food wine,
too. Drink now-2021.
